Equipped with dual 8-core Intel processors, 4x memory and a 12-Gb SAS backend, the SC5020 achieves the following advantages. IOPS increases by up to 45% *. Up to 3x increase in bandwidth (GB/ seconds) *. Tripling the maximum capacity. The new 3U all-in-one chassis includes 30 drive bays and dual hot-swappable controllers that provide up to 460 TB of raw capacity in a compact unit. You can expand the capacity of each array to more than 2 PB* with a variety of expansion enclosures-making it possible to scale out on a larger scale in a federated multi-array system. But the advantages are not limited to fast hardware. SC5020 includes all the features of the Storage Center operating system (SCOS) to meet your expectations for SC series storage.

Give intelligent advantages to modern workloads. Based on actual usage and application performance requirements, the SC series Data Progression features dynamically optimize multiple drive tiers and RAID levels to improve performance and cost savings. By default, all new data is written to the fastest Tier 1 drive, with a performance level of RAID 10, which is then converted to an affordable RAID 5 Unix 6 (on the same hard drive) for subsequent reading. As the data storage time increases, the system moves it to lower-cost storage until it is again more active.
